development a 3D Cake At Home

Making a 3D cake at home can be as straightforward or complicated as you like. For my daughter's birthday, she wanted a dinosaur cake, and I didn't think the straightforward pan cake with a picture or figurines would do. I researched distinct cake styles, pans, ideas and came up with building my own cake.

Using straightforward box cake mix, with a few tweaks to make it stand up to a lot of icing and a minuscule imagination, I was able to come up with a real hit for her birthday celebration. It all comes down to cutting basic round cake layers and I make a rectangle pan cake and have found that the small egg shaped pan works very well to add some shaping to the cake for legs, facial features etc. A crumb coat layer is considerable in building the cake and using the icing to stick the layers together.

Chocolate Shapes

I of course get something to look at for the shape like a toy or picture for inspiration and draw out a sketch of how I am going to use the cut pieces and put them together on my cake board. I then of course put the pieces together and move them around until I get exactly the scale and shape that I want.

Marshmallow Roasting Sticks

Marshmallow Roasting Sticks Tube. Duration : 3.62 Mins.

outdoorroasting.com Marshmallow Roasting Sticks In this video you see several unique things. One is the perfect marshmallow roasting stick and another is that we are having fun roasting marshmallows indoors on the electric stove. Remember that it is not the eating that matters but the activity. Everyone, especially the kids will always remember marshmallow roasting on the kitchen stove in the middle of the winter. They will remember the activity because activities are what life is made of. Everyone will quickly forget the food you picked up on your way home from work. In this video we used the "Perfect Marshmallow Roasting Stick". It is easy to see that as you turn the handle the marshmallows stay right in the same place relative to the heat. This allows you to easily roast the perfect marshmallow. Another feature of this roasting stick is the blunt end. The skewers point toward the handle so that the kids can't poke things that they shouldn't. The skewer is actually a twin skewer which always holds your marshmallow so that it doesn't fall off and so that it keeps turning with the stick after the inside becomes very soft. In this video we roasted small heart shaped marshmallows that are usually sold in the grocery stores around Valentine's Day. There are lots of variations in marshmallows. Watch your grocery store carefully because they have different flavors and shapes of marshmallows for every season. At Christmas time you can find marshmallows shaped like gingerbread ...

"Salt, salt everywhere" Youngtravellers's photos around Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia Video Clips. Duration : 2.63 Mins.

A TripAdvisor™ TripWow slideshow of a travel blog to Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia by TravelPod blogger Youngtravellers titled "Salt, salt everywhere" Youngtravellers's travel blog entry: "We arrived in Uyuni at 1:30 am after what was possibly the bumpiest bus ride of all time. I slept and Travis ate a chocolate bar. Pretty much the moment we got off the bus Andrea, our friendly, predatory tour operator pounced on us with an offer for the three day, two night trip out onto the Uyuni Salar (salt flat). All we wanted to do was sleep. She said she would take us to a nice hotel with hot water, but first we had to go to her office. Another guy accompanied us and we all three listened to the sales pitch. When we bought the bus ticket we figured we would spend the day in Uyuni relaxing and shopping around for the best tour option. This was in part because we didn't think we could get a tour for the morning. Here was our opportunity. We debated whether or not to go for it (the price wasn't bad, but it wasn't spectacular, and Travis really doesn't like off-the-cuff decisions) - apparently I was really not helpful in the debate. I said it probably wasn't the wisest decision, but I didn't think it was a bad one. There were absolutely ridiculous testimonials by other tourists plastered all over the walls. Poetry, really? All the while the other guy laughed at us. We finally decided to go for it but told her we'd pay in the morning and we wanted to go to bed. So she took us across the ...

How the Raw Food Diet Can Boost Your health and operation

From a nutritional standpoint, living by the law of a raw food diet over the past months has been one great benefit. Both my life as an ultra athlete and areas in my inexpressive life have drastically improved.

Not that raw foods never existed before!

Chocolate Shapes

The divergence is that I became increasingly more aware of what I would put into my body and what effects I could noticeably feel when I first started integrating vegan foods into my diet last summer. Also, as a natural side corollary of an increased training volume I wanted to simply try something different, too.

The exciting thing is that I used to be preoccupied towards raw foodism imagining that one only chews on salads leaves and carrot sticks. Luckily, there are so many citizen out there successful on raw foods and they would never want to go back to a proper diet. These citizen have shaped this 'new' lifestyle reaching out to others to share the same enthusiasm to live on natural foods only.

By definition, raw foods are nutriments that are consumed in their natural, unprocessed state. Some can still be considered raw if they have not been heated above 45 degrees Celsius or 115 Fahrenheit.

Yet, some foods are mistaken for being raw. These include:

  1. Agave nectar: has to be altered and heated to get the typical sweetness resembling the taste of honey
  2. Dried Fruit: dried at high temperatures and blanched
  3. Olives: normally canned, jarred and soaked in bad oils
  4. Almonds, ground almonds: originating in California most nuts have been pasteurized and ground almonds are blanched before putting them straight through the grinder
  5. Frozen vegetables: often boiled and blanched before being packaged even if the label reads "fresh frozen"
  6. Cashews: are considered fruits and are heated to shell and lose their toxins
  7. Tahini: sesame seeds are roasted at high temperatures; even if labeled unpasteurized double-check with manufacturer or make your own by grinding sesame seeds and adding olive oil
  8. Oats: are steamed in order to keep out worms before storage
  9. Wild rice: not considered raw or wild; being blanched after harvesting to preclude from bugs
  10. Miso: made from cooked ingredients even if you purchase the un-pasteurized version

Explore now what the first steps into a new direction were. - From one day to the next, I eliminated all dairy produce.

It was a aware decision that would either turn out to be worth it - or not. But the ample outcome would be the same either way of looking at it: By experimenting and making changes to my diet I would find out more about myself and what foods my body can best deal with. Especially race nourishment is an area where I am enduringly trying to improve, readjusting and become smarter!

So, up until my first ultra marathon in the Sahara I lived a (standard) diet, only that I have never been a customary meat eater. The look of a piece of steak still does not do whatever for me, yet a piece of fish or a salad topped with chicken strips were some of the dishes I would occasionally eat. Naturally, I have always liked raw foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables. Just not the amounts I am eating these days. As for hard and soft cheeses I used to eat a handful maybe every day. Breads and wholegrain batches are foods I still like and consume occasionally to this day.

Nevertheless, weighing foods or counting fat is not something I would recommend for any type of diet. I tried it before because I was exciting about the exact amounts of carbohydrates, proteins and fats I was exciting every day. I think I gave up after a day. It was no fun and more strenuous than I had expected.

In principle, enjoying the (raw) foods you are eating is more important! And worrying about your weight too much is not a rule that applies to the ultra runner anyway. When the body is conditioned sufficient and used to quarterly running and other types of training (cycling, climbing, hiking, swimming for example) you will already have your personal ideal weight which might vary throughout the year.

So, speaking from my feel and intense explore I have done on the benefits of successful on a raw food diet gawk the facts here:

  1. In order to function properly and stay salutary all year nearby eliminating dairy products is the most definite step to take
  2. Significant changes in energy levels corollary in best health, training and racing performances
  3. Mood swings may disappear, the skin will start to glow even more
  4. Hay fever symptoms reduce or even fully clear away
  5. An increased intake of raw foods allows for best nutrient absorption in the body
  6. By going vegan you can still get a lot of junk food so keep packaged vegan foods and ready-meals at a minimum

But...I am happy with my diet so why should I switch to raw foods?

I hear you ask that question. Rightly so.

The respond is simple, though. Why not take it as a challenge to see either you can feel even better, feel stronger and happier. become smarter for your own good and produce in this leading area of life as an ultra runner. Share your experiences with others.

By fueling your body with more natural, raw foods the impact that will have on your training (volume), abilities and trust will be amazing! Just like your enduringly work on getting best or faster in your next ultra marathon by making changes to your training routine, the same goes for your diet.

It takes 28 days for something new to form into a habit. This may seem a long time but the long-term results are what matters. Change takes time so be patient!

How can I be sure that my body gets all the vitamins?

Just recently I was asked that ask again and what do I say to citizen that show scepticism? - I still feel great and would not want to go back to my 'old' diet. And our body is incapable to split animal proteins. Except for the nice taste of meat that some citizen claim it is no use to you in reality.

Honestly said, it is more or less a poor reflection of that person's own incapability to face a challenge and stand up to it. Especially when discussing private diets many, many citizen are eating their option of foods out of habit and never ask a deeper effect.

Remember that raw foods provide you all the necessary carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and enzymes you need.

So here is other great tip:

Listen to your needs and go with your feeling. Some food combinations must be mentioned. I would have never understanding that depending on how you combine foods it can make you feel good or bad. I threw and tossed all into a (fruit) salad or into a vegetable pan and only came to consideration a best feeling after I integrated the tips on ideal food combining.

Feel free to take the shortcut...

  1. Avoid fat and sweet sugar together such as nuts and dates
  2. Bananas and acidic fruits like oranges and pineapples cause cramping and indigestion often leaving you feeling bloated
  3. Acidic fruits and fats should be consumed seperately
  4. Avoid distinct sources of fat in the same meal like mixing coconut, nuts, seeds and avocado
  5. Eat watery foods first; melon before berries before bananas
  6. Tomatoes are considered acidic fruits and are best eaten with tahini, nuts or other sources of protein except for starches
  7. Leafy, dark greens go with everything
  8. Allow your body to suck in acidic fruits before sweet and starchy ones
  9. When exciting cooked vegetables and other foods allow 20-30 minutes for digestion

As usual, it is easier to keep meals straightforward rather than cooking twice a day!

A tip to save time at dinner, with or without kids: I tend to cut up all the fruits and veggies needed for the day nearby lunch time, along with washing a head of lettuce. Tightly stored in plastic containers and put in the fridge, salads and veggies only need to be put on a big plate later on and freshly cut bread, for example. Dips and salad sauces only take two minutes to prepare in a blender.

Whether I strictly live by the law of a raw food diet all the time?

Yes and no. I have found that raw foods definitely add to my ample condition and have helped me to up my training after only two weeks into it. I felt so great that I added more and more raw foods and cook some vegetables three times a week. Also, sticking to the tips mentioned above contributes to a best ample well-being.

As a family and within the group network I am living in I have adapted my current diet to what is the least stress for me and the family. The rest of the family loves the refinements we have made to our evening meals.

I probably eat about 70-80 % raw foods in their natural state and the rest of my daily intake included foods like sprouted buckwheat bread, sometimes a barley roll, vegan biscuits, home-made cakes and fudges, dark chocolate, honey. I skipped things like tofu and other subsitutes months ago. I still do not crave pizzas and have had four pasta dishes in one year.

Subsituting cow's milk for soy milk to use in cappuccinos (still cannot do without it!) took getting used to but the discrete choices and flavors in soy milk are worth a try. Personally, though, I stay away from chocolate, vanilla and berry-flavoured soy milks and stick to plain one and only sometimes I mix calcium-enriched soy milk into coffees and mueslis.

Jelly Beans

It is impossible to trace the exact origins of the Jelly Bean. Only part of its history remains and the rest are lost in time. However, most experts believe that the Turkish Delight, which is a known Mid-Eastern sweet, is the forerunner of the contemporary day Jelly Bean and has been around since the Biblical times.

The process known as panning was created in 17th century France and was used to make Jordan Almonds. Panning was done primarily by hand is now automated, but the process has remained essentially unchanged while the last three centuries. In Panning, the process would begin by rocking almonds in a bowl that was filled with syrup and sugar until the almonds were coated with a hard candy shell. The panning process gave birth to shell coating and today, large rotating pans are used to do the heavy work. It is the specialist Confectioners that work on the art of adding and mixing the ingredients to originate the excellent shell.

Chocolate Shapes

In some way, these processes reached the factories in America. The Jelly Beans began production there and soon earned a spot among the many glass 'penny candy' jars that were on display in the candy stores. In normal stores, the Jelly Beans were sold by weight and given to the buyers placed in paper bags. The Jelly Beans had an egg-like shape and in the 1930s, they became part of the Easter tradition. They were connected with the Easter Bunny was belief to deliver eggs on Easter as a sign of new life and the start of spring.

Manufacturing a Jelly Bean begins with the making of its center. To do this, ingredients like sugar and corn syrup among others are placed in large boilers which are heated to cook the mixture. The heated composition is then passed through pipes and travels to the starch casting area. At this point, there are many trays containing impressions of the size and shape of the town of the jellybean that are layered with cornstarch by machines. The mix is then squirted out onto the trays and dried overnight. The next day, the cornstarch layer is removed and the beans are run through a moisture steam bath and are sprayed with sugar. The beans are then set aside for 24 to 48 hours.

What sets the jellybean apart from other candies is its special shell coating. This is achieved by the panning process. The beans are poured into a rotating drum which is called the 'engrossing pan'. While the town of the drum rotates, sugar is slowly added to build up the shell. Then, dissimilar colors and flavors are added to the mix to give the jellybean its signature taste and appearance. The shiny look is because of the increasing of Confectioner's Glaze which is a process that can take 2 to 4 days. After the beans are 'polished', they are packed and ready for shipping to candy stores around the world.

There have been two types of jellybeans since 1976. These are the customary and the gourmand jellybeans. Even though both types take 6 to 10 days to make, the divergence is in their recipes that gives each their unique qualities. The customary jelly bean regularly holds its flavor only in the shells. The gourmand varieties however have flavored shells and centers. They also are softer and smaller than the customary jellybeans.

How to make your own fortune cookies. This was the first time I tried making these and they are easy once you get the hang of the baking process and get the timing right. If you are making these for an event, I would try a batch before hand to get some practice at it too see how they turn out for you. Music: Jason Shaw You Tube user/audionautix www.youtube.com The most important thing about making these cookies is to spread the batter out enough so that it is very thin. Thin cookies will be very crisp and dry when cool. If the cookies are too thick, they won't crisp up when cool and the fortunes inside may stick to the cookie. This is where I found the recipe: chinesefood.about.com 2 large egg whites 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 1/2 teaspoon pure almond extract 3 tablespoons vegetable oil 8 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch 1/4 teaspoon salt 8 tablespoons granulated sugar 3 teaspoons water Preparation: 1. In a medium bowl, lightly beat the egg white, vanilla extract, almond extract and vegetable oil until frothy, but not stiff. 3. Sift the flour, cornstarch, salt and sugar into a separate bowl. · If you plan to mail a chocolate gift while the dead of winter, it will probably stay fine and not melt. If, on the other hand, you expect your chocolate gift to arrive thoroughly solid in California in the heat of August, you need to think again. Avoid sending chocolate while times of extreme heat.

· Instead of sending chocolate gifts full of truffles and candy bars, think sending brownies and/or cookies (save the cookies dipped in chocolate for colder months, though). If you do conclude to mail cookies, pick out ones that do not break easily, like drop cookies. Pack them in foil-lined tin or small box. Put sheets of wax paper between the layers of cookies. upholstery the tin or box of cookies within the shipping box with plastic grocery sacks (or other such material). Mark the box with "perishable - food." Also write on the top, "this side up" to encourage faithful handling.

· If you are sending other items along with your chocolate, place your chocolate in a zip-lock bag (and suck out all the air) to make sure that in case it does melt, nothing else is ruined.

· Pay a wee extra to send your chocolate overnight, or at least send it 2-3 day priority. The sooner it gets there, the less likely it will melt, first.

· Make sure that the recipient will be home when it is received. If your box has to wait on the doorstop in the hot sun, the chocolate will nothing else but melt! Maybe even ask for a signature.

· If it is not a delicate chocolate, ice it before you box it up to mail it. It will not stay frozen, but it will take longer for your chocolate gifts to melt.

· Pack your chocolate gifts with icy gel packs, dry ice, or someone else cold source. If you use dry ice, write on the box "contains dry ice" to warn the recipients. Be sure to pack the chocolate in a zip lock bag so that it does not directly touch the dry ice, and do not touch the ice with your own hands. Write "keep refrigerated" on the exterior of the box.

· Send your chocolate gift container at the starting of the week to ensure that it will not sit at the mailing facility over the weekend.

· Send chocolate that is already melted! In other words, why not send a yummy chocolate sauce or chocolate for fondue!
