I slept and Travis ate a chocolate bar. Pretty much the moment we got off the bus Andrea, our friendly, predatory tour operator pounced on us with an offer for the three day, two night trip out onto the Uyuni Salar (salt flat). All we wanted to do was sleep. She said she would take us to a nice hotel with hot water, but first we had to go to her office. Another guy accompanied us and we all three listened to the sales pitch. When we bought the bus ticket we figured we would spend the day in Uyuni relaxing and shopping around for the best tour option. This was in part because we didn't think we could get a tour for the morning. Here was our opportunity. We debated whether or not to go for it (the price wasn't bad, but it wasn't spectacular, and Travis really doesn't like off-the-cuff decisions) - apparently I was really not helpful in the debate. I said it probably wasn't the wisest decision, but I didn't think it was a bad one. There were absolutely ridiculous testimonials by other tourists plastered all over the walls. Poetry, really? Make the cake in the shape of a car: Driving is leading to a 21-year old. A cake in the shape of his or her favorite car is a great way to celebrate. Use at least two layers, one for the body of the car and a smaller one for the passenger compartment. Tires are easy if you use dark chocolate cookies frosted and pressed on the side of the car (cake) body. Silver or black are very difficult frosting colors for the car body. Use wild colors like hot pink or lime green for the car body frosting and have fun. The glass in the windows can be done with light blue frosting and a few white highlights to indicate reflections. Very little information is needed to make it look like a car once you have the basic shape and wheels. Soon your 21 year old will be driving away with a tasty piece of cake. Have fun!

Designed by well‐known architect Eric Parry, the rooftop spa at the Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane has opened. Housed in a new glazed rooftop extension, it is conceived as an aerial spa providing a haven of tranquility floating above the hubbub of the London streets below. The new floors on top of what was previously a visually incomplete building has been designed as a 'hat' with an over hanging brim. The façade is formed from a ribbon of glass which traces the plan form of the guest rooms beneath, set back from the parapet and topped with a dark zinc roof. An overhanging soffit with a dark gloss finish softly reflects the activity of the city below. The glass is fritted to varying degrees respecting the privacy required by the activity within. The reflective materials are in contrast with the Portland Stone of the existing building whilst also reflecting the sky. Eric Parry Architects' design maximises the spectacular 360 degree view offered by the spa's location on the tenth floor of the Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane. Arriving at the west‐facing reception area, clients can look through fully glazed walls across Hyde Park to the treetops of the gardens of Buckingham Palace, a memorable start to their visit.
